I once cried while watching an episode of House Hunters Renovation. While my tears were real, my love of their aesthetic was not. It would be pretty awesome to say THAT was the moment I knew design would be my life’s work. But, I actually stumbled into my career, quite literally (you should have SEEN the height of the stilettos I rocked in my 20s), while working as a Receptionist at a parking company in Hartford, CT. I got my start “designing” critical office communications such as do not microwave fish, eat food that doesn’t belong to you, or leave dishes in the sink. Of course, this was AFTER I secured a few decades worth of student loans for an Associate’s in Human Services and a Bachelor’s in Psychology. I always knew I wanted to help people – I just didn’t know it would be with color, space, and texture. Luckily, all the stars aligned and my boss turned out to be the Mr. Miyagi to my Daniel-san. He taught me everything he knew and continued to refine my self-teachings for years. I’ve spent close to a decade fine-tuning my style, which gravitates towards a modern, minimalist aesthetic in design (and life) – #doesitbringmejoy? My five-year plan is to focus my energy on my freelance practice as a means to balance what I love professionally with my two greatest creations, my son and daughter. If you’re not scared of white space, like the idea of supporting a woman-owned, small business, and think clean, crisp lines are where it’s at…

I’m going to make everything around me beautiful – that will be my life.
